UEW is a pioneering project that has developed a unique centre for the Wythenshawe community. The project has numerous accolades for the work it does with this disadvantaged community.
In the last 12 years the project has grown from strength to strength turning a derelict church into a thriving social community centre that offers a base for 14 micro businesses, a health and fitness centre, performing Arts and Drama Studio, a recording studio, cinema, café and the vital outreach project for youths.
The main focus of work is with youths involved in gun and knife crime, offering advice to families ad even acting as consultants to other groups and organisations and Local Authorities. Membership is over 500, spanning toddlers, teenagers and adults. What UEW is good at is providing help, support and outreach work for the "hard to reach" youths.
